Family Planning Programme in Bihar by Max Health Centre, a unit of ABMCKS-A NGO

The History of Bihar and Jharkhand dates back to the 6thCentury BC and the birthplace of seven civilizations. Today Bihar and Jharkhand are two of the most economically challenged states in India. They are about 119 million people. The Annual per capita income is less than $150. In December 1999, Bihar became poorer when 22 southern districts were hived off to form Jharkhand state. This reduced Bihar’s revenues by two thirds. Currently, Bihar has a population of 89 million, 90% of which is rural. Jharkhand has 29 million people, 78% of whom live in rural areas. Female Literacy is just below 33%. Average number of children per couple is four. Only 34% of married women use modern contraceptive methods as against the national average of 48%. 25% of married women here do not want another child but do not use Family Planning methods. Status of investment in Health Care, Government –20% and Private Sector –80%. This is where Janani works to strengthen private sector delivery with resources from the government. Max Health Centre works in collaboration with the Contraceptive Social Marketing Program and the National Rural Health Mission.
- ABMCKS is a charitable non-profit organisation at national level that promotes family planning and comprehensive abortion care service, immunization and HIV/TB prevention along with 10 health related programmes through social marketing with 30 centers only in Bihar with its unit Max Health Center. It is operated in Indian State and union territory presently and will operate in poor country as soon as possible with great proposals.
- Our organisation have performed the target of family planning programme except than Bihar state are 10 thousand, immunization among 50 thousand children and thousands found and provide care of HIV/TB cases in ten months. ABMCKS organised the camp in remote rural area after survey the report which collect by our team unit. According to national gazette and information from Ministry of health, there are need to work in Bihar in the field of family planning and abortion care along with HIV/TB programme.
- Most of its revenue comes from its sale of low cost contraceptives. No any funds have been received yet. It is provider of reproductive health products and services to preventing the unwanted pregnancies, maternal deaths and abortions. It provide and sale of condoms, oral and injectable contraceptives.
